Abstract

The article raises the issue of implementing fairytale therapy method in the speech therapy work on the formation of the coherent speech for senior preschool children with the general speech underdevelopment. The concept of "coherent speech" is revealed, the importance of full development of the coherent speech for the personal growth of children, for their preparation for school is emphasized. The importance of acquiring the ability and skills to express coherently in terms of a child's readiness for school is noted. The authors described the difficulties experienced by children with the general speech underdevelopment (GSU) during the development of coherent speech in preschool period. Children with the GSU of senior preschool age have a hard time mastering the narration, composing a story based on a series of plot pictures with their previous arrangement in the sequence of the plot, composing a story based on a given material. Therefore, in speech therapy practice it is necessary to introduce more effective innovative methods for the development of this aspect of speech in children with severe speech disorders.

The essence of the influence of fairy tales and fairytale therapy on the emotional-volitional, personal and cognitive sphere of people is revealed. It is especially important for children. The form of metaphor that underlies the creation of a fairytale is the most accessible to the child's perception. This makes it an attractive option for work in the conditions of remedial and developmental education of children. The fairytale forms and develops children's self-consciousness, reveals their possibilities in relations with the surrounding world and the inner world. Thanks to the fairytale, teachers provide moral education, increase the level of socialization of children, and develop their creative abilities. With the help of the fairytale therapy it is also possible to effectively solve the problems of speech therapy correction of the various speech disorders. The fairytale therapy has a particularly strong potential for the formation of coherent speech in children with GSU. The article describes the correctional speech therapy tasks that can be solved in the process of the fairytale therapy for the development of the pronunciation aspect of speech, distinguishing phonemes by ear, vocabulary accumulation and learning the correct grammatical forms and meanings. All these areas of work make the foundation for the full formation of coherent speech in its the dialogic and monologue forms. The article discusses the techniques and types of work with elements of fairytale therapy, which are recommended for speech therapists for classes on the development of coherent speech with children who experience severe speech disorders.
