Abstract

In the scientific review article, based on the analysis of scientific literature, pedagogical conditions are assigned, which are created for the study of a foreign language for students, in particular English. English is an international language of communication that opens up opportunities for access to information, cultural heritage and professional growth. In wartime, the ability to communicate in English becomes even more important for students for education who intend to continue their studies, professional activities or participate in international programs. As a result of the search, it was found that during distance learning and war conditions, there are several pedagogical strategies: communicative approach, project-based learning, adapted learning, as well as social networks, online platforms and courses for self-education in learning English. It is determined that there are many platforms that offer applicants various interactive courses covering aspects of language learning, such as vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and so on. These platforms often use game elements, making learning more interesting and effective. Such platforms are the most popular and efficient ways to self-study or enhance your knowledge of a foreign language, among them one can mention Coursera, edX, Udemy. In addition to interactive online platforms, social networks were analyzed and considered more closely. Instagram and Facebook are popular today not only for viewing photos, communicating with friends, but also for learning English, exchanging opinions and information. Social networks have been analyzed and found to be advantageous for in-depth study of the English language. Among many internet platforms the author identified two that are considered in different aspects to learn English. With their help, it is possible to improve your knowledge in grammar, vocabulary, and listening, but also learn more about culture, traditions, current events, significant dates, and participate in discussions on important social and other kinds of topics. The practical significance of the research results is to use pedagogical strategies and conditions for more effective and high-quality learning of English.
