Abstract

The article deals with the issue of forming the readiness of future social workers for tolerant interaction with clients in the process of their professional training. The article analyses the essence and content of the concepts of "tolerance" and "tolerant interaction" as they are presented in the scientific and methodological publications. The peculiarities of professional social work are revealed; it is determined that tolerance is one of the most important personal and professional integrative qualities of social workers. It determines tolerant interaction with clients as a key factor in the effective process of cooperation in the social sphere; it is characterized by the ability to impartially perceive clients, their judgements, lifestyle, behavior, resolve conflict situations, build constructive strategies through acceptance and understanding individualities of each person and establishing relationships of trust, cooperation, compromise and camaraderie, etc. The article considers the readiness of future social workers for tolerant interaction with clients as an integrative personal ability to professional empathy, understanding of the diversity of life paths, individual characteristics of clients and constructive cooperation in solving their problems; the components of this readiness are also identified (cognitive, value-emotional, and activity). On the basis of the theoretical and methodological analysis of the peculiarities of the professional activity of future social workers, as well as the peculiarities of tolerant interaction with clients, the article defines the principles (acceptance, individualization, connection of training with real professional activity), approaches (competence-based, personality-oriented, systemic); the pedagogical conditions for the formation of future social workers' readiness for tolerant interaction with clients are described in detail (creation of a tolerant educational environment in a higher education institution; saturation of the content and expansion of forms of professional training of future social workers, taking into account theoretical and practical aspects of tolerant interaction; involvement of future social workers in various forms of volunteer and socially significant activities).
